For a time, I had been toying with the notion that I should write a blog. At first I dismissed it as a silly idea. This was due to me being, shall we say, not the most ‘responsible’ person in the world. Then about a month ago I found out that my girlfriend had her own blog! Ignoring the scandalous fact that this was hidden from me (this is all in jest, of course, as she did not intend to keep it from me… I think), I picked up this silly idea again, which became increasingly less silly the more I thought about it, and ever more attainable. Seeing and reading her own blog (which, for the non-existing women who will never read my blog, is about weddings), it occurred to me (once more), that this cultural phenomenon isn’t only for the famous or well-known, it could be for the everyone! From the soccer moms, the working dads, the available bachelor, the (not so available) boy/girlfriend.. Everyone! Now, keeping in mind that I’m pretty much the social equivalent of a geek, being included into the term ‘everyone’ is an unknown experience for me (I exaggerate, but you get my point).
As of the moment this is posted, I will be entering this blogging world, and once and for all, I will shatter the infantile belief that blogs are for the ‘awesome’.
Holy crap, just like that, I’m a blogger.
Well, that didn’t hurt too much… Let’s keep going then!
I suppose that one of the first things to do in getting to know a person would be to expose some of my information so that a connection is established… Or some crap like that. Seeing as this is a blog, and the interwebs is a dangerous place (and privacy would be nice), I’ll be telling you all enough details about myself for you to get an idea of me while staying anonymous. Kind of an oxymoronic principle, but I’ll give it a try.
I was born in South America ,(back then, a not-so-communist) Venezuela. I was raised there for some time, enough to learn the language and acquire the culture, and then moved to these United States in my early childhood. My family, which consists of my parents, three sisters, little brother, and I, lived in Florida for a year or two. There, I picked up this admittedly strange language (You Americans might not think so, but English is pretty odd in grammar and structuring, and sometimes your really weird rules), and within 3 years, one of my sisters and I were fully bilingual. After learning a massive amount of the English vocabulary, we moved to the lower east coastal region of Virginia, which I currently call home. This was where I picked up an interest for technology, computers specifically. When I was almost 10, we visited my step-fathers workplace, and two aging machined were gathering dust in the back. While I was waiting for my parents to finish with their anonymous super-secret adult stuff, I went to mess with them. Boredom played a huge role, but I mostly did it for curiosity. Then again, I was REALLY bored. Anyways, after I had had my fun, I asked my stepdad if we could take those home, which we did (they were going to be thrown away, and I was actually doing them a favor). When we got home, I lugged them out of the car and straight into my room. I spent the remainder of the evening taking them apart (I was pretty handy with a screwdriver). After I took them apart, the parts and cables just seemed to make sense to me. So much so, that I actually started to take the better parts of both of them, and put them all into one ‘Frankenstein’ of a machine. I plugged it in, and to my surprise, it actually booted completely fine!
Fast forward almost an entire decade, add formal education, five Microsoft& CompTIA certifications, and three jobs pertaining to Server/Network Setup and maintenance, and a whole ton of experience with almost every foreseeable problem/error/APOCALYPTIC failure, and you have me. Well, you are missing a few important nuggets of information, such as my history, personality, private life, etc. . Its kind off the point. I can’t spill all of my secrets on the first post. If I did, WHY would you keep reading??
So that’s my (partial) story. In this blog, I’ll be talking about my interests, like technology, gaming, movies, television shows, and books. It could range from a movie review, breaking technology news, new games, the latest episode of a series I watch, or something completely different, like a personal issue, relationship stuff, or anything I freaking want! It’s my blog, after all.

If anyone does decide to keep up with my blog, don’t be afraid to leave comments. This is as much of you getting to know me as it is me getting to know you, my readers and followers.
OH, by the way… My name is Daniel, nice to meet you.
